Located on the Hill of Boulder, The Study Tattoo Lounge made its debut at the end of April 2023. Since opening, they have had great business and many new customers. Its location drops it directly in the heart of the student population, drawing a lot of attention and bringing in curious passerbyers. The fresh startup was created by Frank Campos, a long time tattoo artist who followed his passion of owning his own tattoo shop.

Since they just opened, the staff is still working on personalizing the space and making it unique. Julian Allen, the shop apprentice, shares his plans to create an artistic and welcoming shop. "One thing we're doing is trying to make it not a single space space, where we have a tattoo side and then we have a study side where you can get a cup of coffee, just bring your own cup, do homework, hangout with friends, or do whatever you need to do," Allen says.
Study Tattoo Lounge showcases the works of it's artists on the walls, allowing customers to understand each artist's style.

Allen is a CU Boulder student, working right next door to the lounge. He spends his free time drawing, writing, and practicing linework as a part of his training to be an artist. He will train for eight months, and only then will be allowed to pick up a tattoo gun. He explains what drew him to work at the lounge. "What got me here was, over winter, I heard that there was a tattoo shop opening up on the hill and I wanted to be part of the culture. So I just got the guys contact info, and then built the shop. Everything in here, all the tables and stuff, I kind of built and set up," Allen says.
Tattoo artist Taphas keeps his space clean and sterile. Everything is wiped down and cleaned before and after use.

The Study Tattoo Lounge will be continuing to curate their space over the coming months, but remain accepting customers. They pride themselves on their original art, and ability to be versitile in style. The lounge is becoming more and more popular amoung students, and expect great business going forward.
